Notes for Jessamine Hildegarde Bosanquet Townshend (Hilda)
Like her brother Noel Edward Townshend [674], Hilda suffered from mental health problems.
In a letter dated 8 August 1934 to Hilda's sister Daisy Townshend [671] the Acting Physician Superintendent at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, Monks Orchard, Eden Park, Beckenham, Kent wrote "I regret to say that your sister's illness does not come within the rules governing admission to this hospital ". In a further letter dated 9 December 1934 Hilda's aunt, May Young, wrote from Tiensin "We have been so very sorry about Hilda's breakdown, I do trust she is improving".
In 1938 Hilda was admitted to hospital in Abergavenny, where her brother Noel joined her as a patient in 1942.
