Notes for Reginald Philip Townsend
Educated at Ampleforth College and City & Guilds Institute, London, Reginald was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps on 28 December 1940 (1). Nothing further can be traced about his military service during the Second World War though it is known that he left the army as a Captain.
After the war he was an engineer with the North East Electricity Board.
Reginald died in Manchester. In his will he left £2167 to the Electrical and Electronic Industries Benevolent Association (EEIBA) - The Electrical and Electronics Charity
