Mary was born in Mallow.
Mary was granted administration of the will of her sister Katherine Townsend [6A23] in 1896 at which time she was shown as a spinster. Page 427 of The Calendar of Wills and Administration 1858-1922 in the National Archives of Ireland records that Administration of the personal estate of "Catherine Granville Eyre Townsend formerly of Garrycloyne County Cork and late of 1 Portland Place Great Malvern County Worcester Spinster" who died on 9 October 1896 at latter place, was granted at Dublin on 18 November 1896 to " Mary H M Townsend of Townshend of 1 Portland Place Spinster the Sister". Effects £2,391 11s.
Married sometime after 1896. Sidney Ernest Langdon was the son of Captain Charles Henry Clark Langdon CBE RN who in 1881 was Assistant Commander HMS President.
