Notes for Isobel Margaret Townsend
Isobel lived at 43 Ashburton Road, Newton Abbot, Devon. She died at Newton Abbot hospital and is buried at Highweek Church.
She initiated Christian Missionary Society work in Highweek parish and was Bible Society Secretary for many years. She was also Churchyard Treasurer and Secretary.
An obituary in the Highweek Church magazine recalls that 'She was an inspiring example of personal discipleship to Christ and of untiring service to His Kingdom. She had notable gifts of intellect and personality which made her a natural leader in the life of the parish.'
