Notes for Florence Hilda Townshend (known as Hilda)
The April 1901 Irish Census and the April 1911 Irish Census show that Florence was born in Dublin and was living with her parents at Carrigfadda, Skibbereen, Co Cork.
In the book The Memoirs and Diaries of Judith Isobel Chavasse by Dr Rachel Finnegan and published in 2024 there are several references to Hilda visiting Judith Chavasse at Seafield; the last recorded occasion was on 25 August 1921 when "Judith met Hilda Townshend in Skibbereen, who cane to stay for several days, and together they made their daily visits walks etc.".
