Gertrude was born in Cork.
Married 1902. William Delacour Beamish (1) was the son of Albert and Alice (White) Beamish of Leemount (2) (3), Co. Cork, Ireland.
The April 1901 Irish Census records Gertrude, aged 26 and unmarried, as a 'Visitor' at house 11 in Westbourne, Queenstown Urban, Cork; the house belonged to her cousin Dr Richard Hungerford Townsend [5A02].
Gertrude and William went to Antigua, British West Indies, in 1909 where William had a sugar estate.

Gertrude Alice Beamish was born on 20 December 1905 and was known as Dadie. She married Archibald McGoun, son of David McGoun, on 6 July 1927, and had one son and two daughters
Robert Delacour Fitzgerald Beamish was born on 12 July 1914 and died on 4 April 1959 aged 44. He married Ina Willhelmina Evans, daughter of Evan Ernest Evans on 19 April 1951. Robert was a secondary school teacher in Antigua. They had three daughters - Alice, Patricia and Amy. As of 1976 Ina lived in the British Virgin Islands.
(1) William died on 11 March 1952. He was descended from Richard Beamish who married in 1695 Mary Townsend [111] and was the progenitor of the Mount Beamish, Willsgrove & Beaumont Branches of the Beamish Family in Ireland.
