Jack was born at Lake Carguligo, NSW.
Married 26 December 1961. Nothing is known about Mary Forlong (Furlong?).
Little is known about John except that he enlisted into the 1st Australian Parachute Battalion on 6 August 1942 at Yolkin, NSW, and left the Army on 5 July 1946. He died at Quirindi, NSW.
John's entry on the website 'Townsend Surname in Australia' shows that his next of kin is Edgar - presumably either his father or his brother, Edgar Townsend [6A20]. Strangely however, there is no link on the website between Edgar, seven of his siblings and his father.
