Being 34 years old on the outbreak of the Second World War, Keith enlisted into 111 Casualty Clearing as a driver on10 February 1942. He left the Army on 4 December 1945. His service record shows that he was living at West Wyalong when he enlisted and that his next of kin was 'Mary Townsend' so he must have been married as his mother's name was Margaret.
