Victoria was born at the family property 'Summerville' in the Wollombi Valley, NSW.

Married in Melbourne on 19 February 1863 (1). Hugh Francis Chambers (2). He was a grazier at Pevensey Station, Hay, NSW which was owned by Godfrey Race.

Of the children:

Edith Chambers married Vice Admiral William Blake Fisher (3) RN of St Helier, Jersey, CI and had a son Douglas Blake. Douglas joined the Royal Navy in 1907, was knighted in 1947 and retired as a Vice Admiral in 1949 after a most distinguished naval career. He married 1st (1916) Constance Parker, daughter of Sir William Parker, 2nd Bart, Fareham, Hants; one son (and one son killed, 1948). Married 2nd (1946) Anne McKay, daughter of late Mr and Mrs Charles McKay and had two sons.

Henry Chambers qualified as a doctor, married Margaret Gibaut, daughter of M Gibaut of Jersey CI and had a son.

Charles Chambers served with the US Army during the First World War and died in St Louis USA.

Frances Chambers married Colonel James Forbes, Wiltshire Regiment, of Cheltenham and had two daughters.

Eleanor Chambers married Captain CH Arnold in India in 1900 and had a son.

Arthur Chambers was a Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.

(1) The marriage was announced in the New South Wales paper ‘The Argus’ on 21 February 1863. “Marriages- CHAMBERS-TOWNSEND. On the 19th inst at Essendon, by the Rev. S. Lloyd Chase, assisted by the Rev. E. Pueblo, Francis A'Beckett, son of the Late David Chambers, Esq, Solicitor, to Victoria Adele, dau of the late J. M. Townsend, formerly of Castletownsend & a niece of Thomas Somerville, Esq, JP, Deputy Lieutenant & Present High Sheriff for Co Cork, Ireland.”

(2) Hugh was born was born 7 January 1838 in Melbourne and died in St Kilda, Victoria, on 13 November 1876.
