Married 25 March 1856. Rev Hon Courtenay John Vernon, Rector of Grafton Underwood, Northants, and 2nd son of 1st Baron Lyveden. See Burke's Peerage - Lyveden.

Page 673 of The Calendar of Wills and Administration 1858-1922 in the National Archives of Ireland records that Letters of Administration of the personal estate of "The Honourable Alice Gertrude Townsend Vernon late of Salford Surrey", who died on 21 May 1913 were granted at London on 9 September 1913 to “Honourable Sydney CF Vernon and Honourable Evelyn M Gillett Married Woman.” Resealed at Dublin on 6 January 1914. Effects in Ireland £706 4s 5d. (Sydney Vernon and Evelyn Gillett are Alice's second son and daughter respectively.)

Page 465 of The Calendar of Wills and Administration 1858-1922 in the National Archives of Ireland records that probate of the will of "The Honourable and Reverend Courtenay John Vernon late of Grafton Underwood County of Northampton clerk", who died on 2 July 1892, was granted at Peterborough on 1 December 1892. Resealed at Dublin on 10 February 1897. Effects in Ireland £4,560 5s 1d.

The daughter Evelyn Mary Vernon married the Reverend Hugh Gillett Rector of Compton, Surrey.
