Notes for Katherine Helena Townsend (Kitty)
In his will dated dated 19 January 1803, with a codicil added on 12 November 1806, Katherine's father set aside £1,000 for her in the event of her marrying.
In his will, dated 24th February 1826, Katherine's brother, Abraham Townsend [224] devised all his lands of Drishane, Farrendagh and Glannafoyne to “Catherine Townsend [226] (Resident of the City of Cork)” and after her death these lands were to pass to John FitzHenry Townsend [250]. Katherine also received all Abraham’s goods chattel, furniture plate etc. (1)
Katherine's death was recorded in the diary of Agnes Townsend [334] - '27 April 1848 Miss Kitty Townsend died.' Buried at Castletownshend.
