Notes for Marion Frances Townsend
The Cork Examiner, of 27 October 1863 reports the following birth "On the 25th inst., at Glountane Cottage, near Mallow, the wife of R. Newman Townsend, Esq., M.D., of a daughter."
Married 1897. William Francis Collier was born in Scotland in 1860.
The April 1901 Irish Census shows Marion and William living in house 11 in Evelyan Gardens, Clifton Ward, Belfast, Antrim, with their children Katherine and John. William is shown as being a Commercial Clerk in the Linen Business.
The April 1911 Irish Census records Marion aged 47 living in a ten roomed house in Hamilton Road, Bangor, Co Down with her husband and two unmarried daughters - Katherine aged 10 and Constance aged 4. The census also shows that they had four children but only three survived.
Of the children; John was born in Belfast in 1899, Katherine was born in Belfast in 1901 and Constsnce was born in Co Down in 1907.
