Page 135 of the book The Memoirs and Diaries of Judith Isobel Chavasse by Dr Rachel Finnegan and published in 2024 records that Judith attended the funeral of Mary.
Mary is buried in Brade Church, Myross Wood and the inscription on her headstone reads “SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF MARY TOWNSHEND DAUGHTER OF JOHN HANDCOCK TOWNSHEND WHO DIED ON FEB 1ST 1901 AGED 35 YEARS.”
