Notes for Georgiana Townsend
Georgiana was the second executor to the will of her sister Henrietta. See page 342 of the Calendar of Wills and Administration 1858-1922 in the National Archives of Ireland records that Letters of Administration on the personal estate of "Henrietta Townsend late of Whitehall Co Cork", who died on 3 February 1866 at 25 Great Union Street London, were granted at the Principal Registry on 5 December 1867 to "Anna Maria Townsend and Georgiana Townsend both of Patrick Street Cork the sisters and Universal Legatees". Effects under £800.
The parish records of Caheragh Parish Church, Dereen, West Cork, record that Georgiana, the daughter of Samuel Townsend JP, was baptized in September 1852. There must be an error here as her father died in 1836. Either the transcription is wrong (1832?) or this Georgiana is the daughter of Samuel Townsend [412], though this is not recorded by Burke's Irish Family Records or Judge John FitzHenry Townshend [250]. The former is almost certainly correct as Georgiana is shown in the Calendar of Wills and Administration as being a sister to Henrietta.
Page 861 of The Calendar of Wills and Administration 1858-1922 in the National Archives of Ireland records that the will of " Georgiana Townshend otherwise Townsend late of Carysfort Avenue Blackrock County Dublin Spinster”, who died on 14 November 1894, was proved at the Principal Registry on 19 December 1894 by "Richard Lane Warren of The Crescent Queenstown County Cork Esquire the sole Executor". Effects £3,595 14s 10d. Richard Warren was married to Georgiana's niece Augusta Amelia Townsend [424].
