Bryan's date of birth is taken from an entry, in contemporary writing, on the fly leaf of a copy of 'The Christian Pattern or Imitation of Jesus Christ' - London 1707.
There is a belief in the family that Colonel Bryan was so grieved by the death of his son Bryan that he set a curse on any of his descendants who used the name. See Bryans at [323] (died in poverty and obscurity), [329] (dinf) and [347] (severely paralysed).
