Adding input of energy to the Sun

Dear all,
I would like to take a Sun-like star, give it a posiive input of energy corresponding to about 1e-3% its binding energy (on a particular point of the surface but as a first approximation one can assume that the energy is distributed equally through the whole surface) and then let it evolve and analyse the pulsations.
I am just looking for a few tests and it looks like GYRE could do this kind of calculation but I do not have the slightest idea of how to add this extra energy and then look at the pulsations.
Could anyone give me a hint? That would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time!
