Re: Non-adiabatic driving
Hi Rich, Thanks for all the great work on GYRE! Using the most recent version of GYRE (that came with the MESA distribution) I still find problems with computing the local work in a strongly adiabatic environment (e.g., white dwarf interiors). I know this is a generic problem that all nonadiabatic p...

Re: Non-adiabatic driving
Hi Rich, First of all, I tried what you suggested. It helps with some of the noise in the deep interior but that's not really what I'm talking about. I think there must be a fundamental problem with the way dW_dx is being calculated, and also (possibly) with the non adiabatic results the code gives ...

Non-adiabatic driving
Hi Rich, I'm having some trouble with non adiabatic calculations of white dwarf models. Basically, I expect dW_dx to be small everywhere except in the outer layers, but the opposite seems to be the case. I'm attaching plots of example calculations I've done of a 0.15 Msun WD. The bumps that I see at...

Problem compiling new version
Hi Rich, I just tried to do an update of gyre by doing hg pull hg update in each of the 3 gyre directories build, core and gyre. On both of my macs I get the same compile error when compiling, for example, in the ad directory: ix|~/gyre/gyre/ad> make fpx3_deps -DGFORTRAN_PR_56052 -DGFORTRAN_PR_56872...

Wish list
Hi Rich, Thanks for setting up this website and making Gyre available! Just off the top of my head I have a couple a requests on my wish list. 1. I know it may be redundant, but could some or all of the Gyre output files contain header information about the stellar model that was used, i.e., its Tef...
