Re: possible to model observed non-monotonic rotation profile?
Thanks, Rich. I don't need GYRE to evolve it, just do what it usually does (hand me the eigenfrequencies). I didn't realize GYRE could handle that, so good to know. The remaining question is then how one would build a model with a particular non-monotonic rotation profile (e.g. to match measurements...

possible to model observed non-monotonic rotation profile?
Hi Rich et al., Quick question: is it possible to hand GYRE, or build within GYRE, initial conditions that have a non-monotonic rotation profile (e.g. a measured surface rotation rate than exceeds an internal subsurface rotation rate)? My assumption is no (and how would one produce that in MESA, any...

Re: GYRE 6.0 libgomp issues?
yup that worked, thanks! I do note that eta is listed as a valid output option at https://gyre.readthedocs.io/en/stable/ref-guide/output-files/summary-files.html#only-n without warning that this is a nad parameter only, but perhaps a more informed user/real asteroseismologist would recognize that th...

GYRE 6.0 libgomp issues?
Hi Rich et al., I'm trying to use the attached inlist with GYREv6.0 and a MESA model (v15140) in FGONG format. I receive the attached error log, which includes many segfaults and references to gcc/libgomp/ and glibc-2.27/nptl/ These parameter settings are imported from a previous template that worke...

Re: fundamental mode
Thanks Rich Digging through my very poorly organized notes on my 2018 and 2019 papers over the past few days, I think this must have been a case of my misunderstanding what n_p and n_pg meant a while ago, and then that misconception propagating forward. I'm not an asteroseismologist by training, so ...

fundamental mode
Apologies in advance if this is somewhere on the FAQ! I've gotten into several "enthusiastic discussions" with people (observers) about why GYRE labels the FM as n = 0 rather than n = 1. Each time, it makes me question whether I'm actually correct in my understanding of GYRE's convention. First, can...

Re: meaning of failure to produce any output
I think I figured it out:
If GYRE doesn't tell you there's something wrong, and there's no segfault/obvious breaking, it just means no frequencies were found in the specified range. Is this a safe assumption?

meaning of failure to produce any output
Hi all, I have a general question. I'm trying to compute just the fundamental pressure mode for a large number of MESA models, so cycling over a GYRE template inlist restricted to a certain range (in muhz, which is not the best unit for this kind of star but is the one I'm most familiar with--I've m...
