Why radial displacement larger than 1 ?

Hi, I use gyre_tasc5 package to calculate the displacement and find in the xi_r, both re and im part of it can be larger than 1. But as the description of xi_r: "the xi_r array contains the corresponding surface radial displacements, in units of the stellar radius. these are complex quantities, enco...

Re: Is there any way to speed up the search process?

Hi Rich, Good! After i add these two parameters in the inlist, the program runs fast. As a comparison, i run ns9 and ns10 (with add_center_point_to_pulse_data = .false. ) both once and the time is: ns9: Building frequency scan added scan interval : 0.4800E-06 -> 0.4810E-06 (100 points, LINEAR) Build...

Re: Is there any way to speed up the search process?

Hi Rich, I attach the new model files in this letter. But when i use the new model in gyre calculation, it runs into error. Below is the error message: ubuntu64@ubuntu64-virtual-machine:~/software/gyre/work$ ../bin/gyre test.in gyre [5.2] ---------- Compiler : GCC version 8.3.0 Compiler options : -I...

Re: Is there any way to speed up the search process?

Hi Rich and Warrick, Thank you for your reply. Since MESA only model ns envelope, so my models only contain the outer most part of the star. Is that another reason for the slow calculation ? And if i let the model accrete and accrete... many material, to form a very thick and convective atomsphere, ...

Re: Is there any way to speed up the search process?

Hi Rich, Thank you for your reply and the explanation. Yes, i think model ns9 and ns10 are only radiative shells and should have problem to calculate the frequencies. I just curious why the calculation of these models are so slow. As a comparison, i make a he write dwarf with mesa and calculate the ...

Re: Is there any way to speed up the search process?

Hi Rich, Attached files are the inlist, model and screen output files. The models i use is modified from mesa test_suite neutron_star_envelope. Among them ns9.* and ns10.* are the results of the last two steps. Model ns9.* is from an empty neutron core and ns10.* accrectes material for about 50 step...

Is there any way to speed up the search process?

Hi, When i use GYRE to search the oscillation frequency, i find that when the search dimensionless frequency interval lies in a very low region, the search time is too long. For example, when i search with below parameters: freq_min = 4.8e-7 freq_max = 4.81e-7 freq_min_units = 'NONE' freq_max_units ...

Why my running be killed?

Hi, When i run gyre-tasc5 with command "gyre_force test.in( test.in )", the os always kill my program. I use command "dmesg | grep -E -i -B100 'killed process" to check the killed process, it give me below message: [17917.578876] [ 6990] 1000 6990 2281642 1942615 18173952 302903 0 gyre_force [17917....
