FLASH -- Current Events at University Park

Comet Hale-Bopp

In the coming months of 1997, comet Hale-Bopp will be a beautiful object visible in the sky. In February and early March, the best time to see it is near dawn, around 5:30 AM. By late March, it will be visible in the North West in early evening.

Penn State's Astronomy Department will be giving two nights of short lectures on the comet. If the weather permits, a comet viewing will follow. Please stay tuned to this page for further details.

April 1st
