ASTRO 103

Optional Work Problems

Your text book as three sets of questions at the end of each Chapter. The first set serve as a concept review ("Review and Discussion"). If you are uncomfortable with the material in the chaoter, start by going through these questions and reviewing the text until you can answer the questions.

The next set of questions ("Conceptual Self-Test") are good practice questions for the tests. While they often focus on details which I will not emphasize, the flavor the questions is appropriate. Again, use the questions to drive you into reviewing the material in the Chapter. Answers to these questions are found in the back of the book.

Finally, there are the "Problems." These tend to involved more calculation than you will have to do on the exam, but if you try some of them -- particularly those that look relevant to material emphasized in lecture -- then you should be in good shape for the exam.
