General Machining Shop

The General Machining Shop is available for design, machining, and fabrication of projects and support to the educational, research, and outreach programs of the department.  Services available are milling and lathe work, mechanical fabrication, 3D modeling CAD design, and inventory of fasteners and materials.

Projects produced from this shop have included Traveling Poster exhibit of Galaxies, modeling SALT devices, numerous fixtures for research support, repair and design of educational demonstration, instructional devises, maintenance, and repair of the department’s equipment.

General Machining services are available to all departmental staff and students.  Scheduling is done through the Shops Supervisor in the Electronics Shop.
